Today I did something I have never done before. I've always wanted to but it just never worked out. What was it? I went to Cape Canaveral and at 2:20 pm I watched the Space Shuttle take off.
It's something I should have done a long time ago. It was impressive. There was probably 5,000 people in the area where I was at Space View Park. No parking. I just got lucky and a policeman told me to park in a tow away zone. Fortunately, it was a perfect spot. Rolled around trying to find the best spot to see the shuttle launch. It was so crowded that there was no good spot so we went to look at another spot and just accidently seen an opening between cars that gave me a great view across the water. The police kept coming by telling everybody they had to move behind the cars or go somewhere else. I wasn't going anywhere, they could either arrest me or give me a ticket. I couldn't have found a better spot with all the people. For the two hour drive going and coming and all the people it was well worth it! It is so terrible that our government is putting an end to the Space Shuttle.
